  • Acquisition of USEC Inc., an enricher of uranium for nuclear power, by Toshiba Corporation and The Babcock & Wilcox Company
  • Realization of an Islamic project financing in connection with the development of the ArcelorMittal pipe factory, to be the world’s largest, in Jubail, Saudi Arabia
  • Advising in respect of the proposed acquisition by Vedanta Resources plc of 51-60 percent of the share capital of Cairn India Limited, an India-based natural resources company. Transaction named "M&A Deal of the Year" by India Business Law Journal.
  • The restructuring of approximately SAR7.5 billion of indebtedness of Al-Ittefaq Steel Products Company (ISPC). Transaction is the first major corporate debt restructuring in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the largest non-sovereign debt restructuring in the Gulf region.
  • Representation of Rio Tinto in connection with a multi-billion dollar Greenfield project to develop an aluminium smelter in Sarawak, Malaysia, and other Greenfield projects
  • Representation of Norsk Hydro ASA in connection with its acquisition of the majority of Vale SA's aluminum business located in Brazil
  • Advising the mandated lead arrangers in respect of the US$417 million financing of African Minerals Limited’s Tonkolili Iron Ore Project in Sierra Leone
  • Advising on the first modern mining concession in Serbia
  • Representation of a major international mining and processing company in its joint venture with a major Middle Eastern mining company to develop a multi-billion dollar integrated aluminum project
  • Representing a Russian potash fertilizer company in its US$1 billion IPO on the London Stock Exchange
