Kirsten Jackson, a complex commercial litigator, represents policyholders in a variety of insurance recovery matters.

Ms. Jackson regularly secures multimillion-dollar settlements and awards for policyholders in the full spectrum of insurance cases, including those involving:

Leadership

Ms. Jackson works to promote diversity in the legal community. She currently serves as the Diversity Subcommittee Co-Chair for the American Bar Association’s Insurance Coverage Litigation Section, and previously served on the board of the California Minority Counsel Program’s Annual Business Conference.

Ms. Jackson regularly speaks on various topics, including data privacy class actions, international insurance claims, and cyber insurance, as well as on leadership and career development.

  • Hawaii Department of Transportation, in a dispute with Ciber and XL, the primary D&O insurer, resulting in a favorable non-confidential, US$31.7 million-dollar settlement*
  • Cottage Health, in a first of its kind cyber-insurance coverage claim against CNA and Beazley, resulting in a favorable settlement for the insured*
  • Cedars-Sinai, in a medical malpractice coverage claim against Homeland Insurance Company 
  • Sigma Plastics Group, a major plastics manufacturer, against Beazley in a successful Ninth Circuit appeal*
  • Marc Fisher Footwear, owner of Nine West and other footwear brands, against Hartford Fire Insurance Company in business interruption claims stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic*
  • Passport 420, in an insurance case involving a US$10 million policy covering a private jet that was seized as part of a criminal case*
  • Opus Bank, in an insurance coverage case against Axis Insurance Company*
  • Hasa, Inc., in a breach of contract class action case related to insurance claims against Steadfast Insurance Company and others*
  • Somera Capital Management, in a professional liability suit against Twin City Fire Insurance Co.*
  • International Union of Operating Engineers, in an insurance coverage case against Illinois National Insurance Co.*
